Hi everyone.

My name is Mr Tim Norton.

I am a student teacher in Grade 2M during term 2 at YRPS in 2009. I am studying a Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) at Latrobe University, after previously studying Secondary teaching at Monash University, and a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Outdoor Recreation at ACU.

I am having a great time with the class and think everyone is fantastic.

I am an elite mid-distance runner, aiming at making the Australian team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games and London 2012 Olympics in the 1500m. Last time I raced I won the Victorian 1500m Championship at the M.C.G in 2006 (pictures below). Since 2006 I have had hip surgery twice (as recently as April this year), and have had numerous knee and hip injuries, preventing me from racing.

I also love playing the guitar, summer, going to the beach, holidays, bike riding, tennis, music, and eating (being a runner means i can eat lots - but healthy).

When I was in Primary School I also came to YRPS. Funnily enough my favorite Grade was Grade 2. My teacher was Mr O'Sullivan and I loved his class. The school is completely different now. When I was here as a student there was a big tram out the front we could play on, the oval was all grass, there was a large basketball court where our classroom block is now situated, and there are now a lot more Grades, classrooms and students at the school. Carmel was still the lolly-pop lady way back then too.
